Wanda volunteers call for support to cornea donation
Jun 03,2013
Volunteers from Wanda’s Nanchang Bayi Commercial Management Company held an activity to encourage people to support the cornea donation.
Volunteers handed out leaflets and publicized the knowledge of cornea donation during the activity in Nanchang, Jiangxi Province on June 2, a few days before the National Eye-Care Day, which falls on June 6 every year.
The activity aims to raise public awareness of the importance of cornea donation and discourage the black market trading of organs.
In Jiangxi Province alone, a total of 112 cornea donations have been recorded, helping more than 200 patients recover their sight, according to statistics from the Jiangxi branch of the Red Cross Society of China.
