May 16,2013
Wanda Group Chairman was quoted by The Beijing News recently that his biggest wish is to make Wanda a world famous brand in the next three to five years.
"And I hope Wanda will be as influential as Disneyland in eight to ten years," he added.
Wanda has actively engaged in expanding its overseas footprints in the past two years. In June, 2012, it was reported that the group plans to invest $2.5-3 billion to build Wanda Cultural Tourism Cities, which are urban complexes combining cultural, tourist and commercial facilities, in Moscow, St. Petersburg, North Caucasus or some other places in Russia. In last December Wanda was said to have signed a cooperation framework agreement with Reliance Group, India's largest private sector enterprise.
Believing in the bright outlook of the culture industry, Wanda has been the biggest investor in culture industry among Chinese enterprises for several consecutive years. The group's cultural revenue is projected to surpass 40 billion yuan by 2016, placing it among the world’s top 20 cultural enterprises.
