Wanda Releases Corporate Social Responsibility Report

The Wanda Group released its corporate social responsibility report for the first half of 2012 on July 5. The company has achieved good results in creating jobs, paying taxes, charity donations, voluntary services and energy saving & emission reduction.

The Wanda Group created 8,428 jobs in the first 6 months of this year, including 2,430 jobs for college graduates. The company itself recruited 3,363 workers, including 1,465 college graduates.

The company is to open 18 new Wanda Plazas and 12 five-star hotels this year, which will generate around 100,000 jobs, including 20,000 jobs for college graduates.

By June 30, the company had opened 50 Wanda Plazas and 28 five-star hotels, creating 319,000 jobs in total, including 101,000 jobs for college graduates.

In the first half of 2012, the Wanda group paid 10.64 billion yuan in taxes, up 13.7% from last year and ranking No.1 among China’s private enterprises.The company has maintained a relatively fast growth rate despite overall economic slowdown, which reflects the company’s good growth trend.

In the first half of 2012, the Wanda group donated 74 million yuan for charity causes. The company organized 251 voluntary services, involving 137,000 workers.

In June, Guangzhou Baiyun, Wuhan Lingjiaohu and Fuzhou Financial Street Wanda Plazas obtained the Green Building Label (for buildings that have been occupied for at least one year) issued by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, becoming the nation’s first batch of commercial projects to win the label.

In addition, 10 Wanda Plazas obtained the Green Building Design Label in the first half of 2012, bringing the total number of Wanda projects winning the label to 26.

Since the nation launched the national green building label campaign, all the commercial projects winning the Green Building Design Label and the Green Building Label are Wanda Plazas, which shows that Wanda has taken a solid lead in energy saving and emission reduction in the industry.
